  1. "Nice...VERY NICE.....

Posted by Karl Larson NAR member on 4th Sep 2017

.....Nice....Beautiful flight," Announced the range safety officer over the loudspeaker. The gang of L1, L2, and Level 3 of experienced rocketeers that launch monthly at this site, paused what they were doing and watched this flight. The spontaneous applause that broke out when the Scarab 54 softly touched down in the weeds was the only praise necessary describing this rocket's first flight. Accelerating to 2500+ feet in 14 seconds on an Aerotech H148 Redline, this rocket tore into the sky trailing mach diamonds. I recommend this rocket because it flies straight, true, seeming to get faster the higher it goes. The size is small enough that it eats H and I engines but stays below the 1500 gram FAA waiver rules. I am hoping to reach the 1 mile mark with a heavy I motor soon. Ugly, at first, I've grown to love it. High recommendations.
